This Privacy Policy explains how Slice Financial Inc. ("Slice," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use our website, app, waitlist and referral program. If you get a slice, we'll also give you the privacy notice federal law requires for financial customers.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
- •Contact information: name, email address, phone number and mailing address
- •Home and mortgage information: your address, what you paid, your mortgage balance, payment, rate, loan type and PMI, and any mortgage statement you upload
- •Application information: answers to our questions, information needed to verify your identity, and your consents and signatures
- •Payment and payout details: collected and held by Stripe and Plaid. We don't store your bank account numbers
Information from Others
- •Plaid: when you connect your mortgage, its servicer, balance, payment, rate and PMI. When you apply, and for any bank account you choose to connect, balances, income deposits and transaction history, to verify your income and set up your repayment account
- •Credit bureaus: a soft credit check when you apply, which doesn't affect your credit score
- •Property data and public records: property details and estimated values, and public records such as recorded deeds and mortgage data. We also use public records to choose which homeowners to mail about Slice
- •Your mortgage servicer: confirmation of payments, PMI cancellation and recasts on your loan
- •Referrals: if someone referred you, that they did

- •Usage data, such as pages visited and actions taken

How We Use Your Information
- •To estimate your savings and check whether you qualify
- •To review your application, make an offer and prepare your Slice agreement
- •To pay your servicer, request PMI cancellation and a recast, and collect and record your repayments
- •To pay referral earnings
- •To communicate with you about your account, application and slice
- •To send you marketing by mail or email, which you can opt out of
- •To detect and prevent fraud, and to keep our services secure
- •To understand how people use Slice and improve it
- •To meet our legal and regulatory obligations
How We Share Your Information
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only:
- •With service providers that help us run Slice, under contracts that limit how they use it: Plaid (account connections), Stripe (payments and payouts), property data providers, credit bureaus, email and mail services, analytics (PostHog), and cloud hosting
- •With your mortgage servicer, with your authorization, to make the payment on your loan and request PMI cancellation and a recast
- •In public records: if you get a slice, the document that secures it is recorded with your county, as mortgages are
- •With the person who referred you: your first name, whether your slice is funded, and what they earn from it. Never your loan details
- •For legal reasons: when required by law, subpoena or a regulator, or to protect our rights and others' safety
- •In a business transfer: if Slice is merged, acquired or sells assets, subject to this policy
Data Security
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, limit access to the staff who need it, and log every staff action on customer records. Bank connections run through Plaid, and bank account numbers stay with Plaid and Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll tell you if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your information while you have an account or a slice, and afterward for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records or we need it to resolve disputes.
Your Choices and Rights
- •Ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. We may need to keep some records the law requires
- •Disconnect your mortgage or bank accounts in the app, or through Plaid
- •Unsubscribe from marketing email with the link in any message, or ask us to stop mailing you
- •Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under state law

Children's Privacy
Slice is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. We'll post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date, and tell you by email about material changes.
