Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website, app, waitlist and referral program provided by Slice Financial Inc. ("Slice," "we," "our," or "us"). By using them, you agree to these Terms. If you get a slice, a separate Slice agreement governs it (see section 4).

1. Eligibility

To use Slice, you must:

  • •Be at least 18 years old
  • •Live in the United States
  • •Be able to enter into a binding agreement

To apply for a slice, you must also own and live in a home with a mortgage that carries private mortgage insurance (PMI), in an area where Slice is available. Slice is currently available only in limited areas.

2. What Slice Does

Slice helps homeowners stop paying PMI. If you qualify, Slice makes a one-time, principal-only payment directly to your mortgage servicer (your "slice"), sized to bring your loan balance to the point where you can ask your servicer to cancel PMI.

You then repay Slice monthly, at your mortgage's interest rate, plus a monthly Slice fee that is a share of the PMI you no longer pay. Your repayment is secured by a document recorded against your home, behind your mortgage.

Slice is not your mortgage lender or servicer. Your mortgage stays with your lender, and you keep paying your servicer.

3. Estimates, Applications and Your Servicer

Savings figures shown before you apply are estimates, not offers. Slice makes an offer only after reviewing your application, which may include a soft credit check and the accounts you connect. We may decline any application.

Cancelling PMI and lowering your mortgage payment (a "recast") are done by your servicer, under its own rules. We choose loans whose servicers do both, but we don't control their decisions or timing. Your Slice agreement says what happens if your servicer doesn't cancel PMI or recast.

4. The Slice Agreement

If you accept an offer, you sign a separate Slice agreement with Slice. You'll see its full terms, and a plain-English summary of costs, before you sign. It covers, among other things:

  • •The slice: the amount Slice pays to your servicer
  • •Repayment: what you pay Slice each month, at your mortgage rate
  • •Slice fee: a monthly share of the PMI removed, which ends when PMI would have ended on its own
  • •Minimum hold: any amount due if you sell or refinance within 24 months
  • •Sale or refinance: the remaining balance is repaid at closing. On a sale, Slice never collects more than its fixed share of the sale price
  • •Security: the document recorded against your home, and its release when you pay in full

If the Slice agreement and these Terms conflict, the Slice agreement controls.

5. Fees and Deposits

Using the website, joining the waitlist and applying are free. The Slice fee and any other charges apply only under a signed Slice agreement, and are shown to you before you sign.

The waitlist deposit is optional. You can get it back in full at any time from your waitlist page, and it doesn't commit you to getting a slice.

6. Referral Program

Homeowners can share a referral link. When someone you refer gets a slice, you earn a share of the Slice fees we collect on it, as shown on your referrals page. Payouts go through Stripe and require you to complete Stripe's identity and tax setup. We may withhold or reverse earnings tied to fraud, self-referrals or refunded payments, and we may change or end the program for future earnings with notice. Lenders, loan officers and real estate agents can't earn referral payouts.

7. Your Account

You agree to give accurate, current and complete information, including on any application, and to keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Don't use Slice for anyone else's home without their permission, or try to interfere with or misuse the service.

8. Electronic Communications

You agree that we can send you account messages by email and in the app. Before we deliver any disclosure the law requires in writing electronically, we'll ask for your separate consent to electronic delivery.

9. Third-Party Services

Slice uses third-party services, including Plaid to connect your mortgage and bank accounts and Stripe to process payments. Your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Intellectual Property

The content and software of the Slice website and app are owned by Slice Financial Inc. and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may not copy, distribute or create derivative works from them without our written permission.

11. Disclaimers

The website and app are provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee the accuracy of home values, estimates or projected savings, which may differ from actual results. Nothing in these Terms limits our obligations under a signed Slice agreement or under consumer protection law.

Slice does not provide financial, tax or legal advice. Consider talking to a qualified professional before entering any financial agreement.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, Slice Financial Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the website or app.

13. Indemnification

You agree to cover Slice Financial Inc. and its officers, directors, employees and agents for claims and costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the service.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by federal law and the laws of the state where your home is located. A signed Slice agreement sets its own governing law and how disputes about it are resolved.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll tell you about material changes by email or on our website before they take effect. Continuing to use Slice after that means you accept the updated Terms. Changes never alter a Slice agreement you have already signed.
